Les Carroz, the area and surroundings.
Less than an hour from Geneva Airport and the closest main French resort to an airport...Les Carroz is an integral part of the Grand Massif, one of the largest, and most scenic, areas in France. 265km of all types of piste, from superb greens to learn on, to some of the best off-piste around. The area lends itself to mixed ability groups as many sectors give a choice of everything from green to off-piste, leading down to the same lift. From our experience and that of our previous clients, Les Carroz is one of the best places you can come to to learn to ski.
The village is a delightful alpine spot tucked onto a sunny plateau above the Arve valley within easy reach of the motorway from Geneva to Chamonix. It is very well known in France as it is one of the oldest French ski towns, but an extensive upgrading scheme for both the village and the lift system, means that you can have the best of both modern convenience and older character.
Being a predominantly French resort, in the past, has given the area lots of fine, atmospheric mountain restaurants (mainly table served) and a lovely relaxed feel.
Access is by a new 8 place high speed gondola which can be reached by the Ski-Bus which stops at our door, or by car to the new car parks beside the lifts, putting you on the slopes in less than 6 minutes.
For guests in Chalet Calluna we also offer a free shuttle service to the slopes either to ski school/main gondola or direct to a chairlift where you can ski from the minibus to the chair 20m later!
